Retelling of an age old story can be difficult and sometimes tedious but it’s aced in this macabre, mostly silently and devilish short. There have been quite a few retellings of haunted cameras, Nighfall did an episode called Deadly Developments,  Stephen King wrote a short story Sun Dog, and several films include this supernatral element such as ชัตเตอร์ กดติดวิญญาณ – Shutter (2004)  and Baba Yaga (1973). But without trying to cast this aside as just another of the same I have to give a lot of credit to Toby Meakins for making this classic scary once again. A camera expert buys LOT 254, a retro camera while cleaning and checking the camera he finds a small silver cross is embedded in the camera, he removes this and starts to film, what he see’s is quite dark and totally schocking.

I quite like silent movies as they have a lot more chrarcter as the visuals have to almost force the story along, you have to concerntrate a little more and a lot of attention is paid to the smallest detail in this film. It’s quiet and simple but what is effect are the effects seen through the camera, they start off briliantly, the entitey along with this film is secluded and very spooky, sadly it turns into all the typical jump scare horrors of recent time. It’s OK, but with a little bit of tweaking it could be great. it works as short, maybe a follow on could summon a little more horror and a really good scare througout.

Significance of 254
It’s an angel number of finding your path – http://sacredscribesangelnumbers.blogspot.co.uk/2011/08/angel-number-254.html
It adds up to 11 which has a lot of occult connections.. but I think it’s just a number.
