Film-maker Adam Pfleghaar has devised a collage of interviews and compiled meticulous research , and constructed an audio-visual meditation on the themes of how we, as a species are only a tiny cog in a giant wheel, seeing the bigger picture is alluring and understanding how far detached we are from nature if eye opening but the end result of In Search For Balance had me scratching my head working out how these guys cured diabetes but The method and technique doesn’t seem something marketable for the rest of the public

At first glance this was always going to be an awkward film for any director to make , after the great success of Sandcastles, the amazing graphic novel detailing the dark and immersive story of a group of strangers trapped on a beach, am night was the only person who probably is just crazy enough to take this on and to convert it for the Hollywood screen .
I had read the comic several years before when it first came out I have to buy a new copy as I had lost my original lent to it a dear friend who maybe one day will give it back to me, so now I have a fancy new version with extra insights from the author and cool little sticker that says it is being made into a movie. but for the life of me I couldn’t quite work out how he was going to translate this into a story for the big audience , but strangely he has come up with her intelligent and intriguing storyline which dips from the curious into conspiracy.

Sometimes the ideas in sci-fi movies are so brilliant they are easily missed, but when dealing with advanced concepts about mimicking bodies, mutations and genetic diseases that are totally alien, there’s no real easy way to go about it. But I feel with some more attention to editing and with an actual drive to interact with an audience then this could have been more hard-hitting and some of its counterparts
I would never suggest that Shane Abbass, is actively copying any other films that I’m about to mention, but I’m willing to step up and say that I’m actually quite intrigued by what he could do with a small budget, this previous movies Gabriel (2007) managed to pull off a lot that was missed from the Prophecy film franchise, with all of his film mastery and magic however, just now and again he just can’t seem to get something quite right and I can’t quite put my finger on it. To my eye, there seems to be a really strong connection with Franck Vestiel’s, Eden Log (2007) and Pandorum (2009) and though Inifini doesn’t really step on any toes per say it appears that they are probably best watched together as a trio of great sci fi movies all connecting a similar theme. All hail the new flesh! If David Cronenberg was going to make a vampire film then it would be something like this, but on a much larger scale possibly with hordes of infected people running around. Strange blood is a low budget attempt at showing us the horrors that sometimes come disguised as a scientific blessing. Melding science and mythology, this film successfully depicts a deep raw worship of an alien being, something akin to Existenz (1999), Tetsuo Body Hammer (1992) or even Hardware (1990) while keeping a firm foot on the daddy didn’t love me backstory. Starting out fresh and curious the film is full swing in the laboratory, no need for a achievement montage, the experiment is a success!! Unfortunately the blob gets a little hostile similar to Ginger and Fred in Splice (2009) and attacks Henry the pious doctor. Assuming It was a one-off attack and that he’s totally ok he carries on with the experiment, during this time his student falls in love with him and attempts to start a relationship but the pathogen running through his blood from his experiment starts to transform him mentally first into a unemotional beast.
