May 2020 News and Updates

Welcome to new and updates, something I killed off a few years ago but for some random reason, it’s back! To be honest, it seems pointless doing news and updates on a personal movie blog like this as movie news really changes daily and I barely manage to do one a month but it’s a useful resource for me, and yes I’ll admit it, I use this as my own personal movie database, it’s a shame that it’s so damned empty considering how much I watch!!

AOFA Random Movie News

Bride of Frankenstein on the cards, starring Javier Bardem as the monster, sounds interesting, it can be a pretty hard role to play, did anyone enjoy Robert De Niro’s performance in the over dramatic Kenneth’sversion? Continue reading May 2020 News and Updates

March 2017 News

Holy cow I can’t believe it’s the end of the month and I’ve not posted a news article yet! GOOO ME.

A big month for the Irish, and I shall be attempting something a little special for St Patrick’s day, rather than another alternative Valentine’s day list. ← yeah this didn’t happen so it’s on the back burner but it will come, just be patient my lovelies Continue reading March 2017 News

January 2017 News – Here we go again…

chaser-title

So what to expect for this year.. I really can’t answer that right now, but hopefully plenty more bizarre posts and tragic reviews, thanks to everyone who held out this year gone, I tried to keep the blog fresh with new posts but I got sick around October and I’ve been in and out of hospital since then. In fact I’m going back in at the end of this week but I have queued a few things. More updates will be on the way, I hope they are positive, in the meantime I have a question..

What do you think of when someone  mentions “British Cinema”? Which era and films come to mind first? Which actors and directors step out?

Another epic anime transformed into real people for the big screen, do these ever work? I really enjoyed parts of Attack on Titan (2015) but it got a bit preachy…

Film projects

Eli Roth is directing Bruce  Willis in a new Death Wish remake… WTF?? More details here http://ihorror.com/eli-roth-directing-bruce-willis-death-wish-remake/

The Shape of Water is going to be get a movie remake, directed by Del Toro, probably the best director for a project like this but dude, where’s Pinocchio. The original author Andrew camilleri, penned the novel La Forma Dell’acqua that finally say daylight in 1994, and eventually got translated into English by 2002, and is the first novel of the Inspector Montalbano series. Del Toro has a habit of starting a series and not finishing it off *cough* Hell Boy *cough* Pacific Rim, so if this series is to be completed I’d imagine he won’t be making them all, but the book plays out like a sort of Dan Brown’s novel but less Illuminati and more social/political

Ridley Scott making shit up as he goes along??  Short answer, probably! I think prometheus was supposed to be the missing link but it raised more questions than it answered soooooo sequels and more cash who would avoid that?!

More details on the Bye Bye man, get up to date on the story behind the film from the author of the original book at the Paranormal Podcast. It’s another story I feel will be dumbed down by hollywood’s fascination to regurgitate the same schit in the films.. got my fingers crossed that this had a unique look and feel. Doug Jones can be a creepy fucker though but considering this should be played by an albino.. it would be nice to have a real albino play this role.. gerrr I think I will try and get hold of this bookie to get real thrills and chills.
