There has been a breakthrough in modern horror anthologies, from V/H/S (2012)to Southbound (2015), Dark Tapes (2016) to ABC’s of Death (2012), there’s been a highly dedicated sense of the bizarre and foreboding squeezed in alongside a curative surreal and darkly comic backdrop of horror. With Argentina becoming the forefront of genuine wholesome and brilliantly crafted cinema lately from superb freaky titles like Terrified(2017) and Cold Sweat (2010), there’s no wonder that this combination of short dark thrillers sets a new bar in the horror genre.

Michael Cimino is a fairly laid back director, with only 8 titles under his belt he seems to only get out of bed to make a groundbreaking movie if and when he has something poignant to say. So 4 years after Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974) he returns with this dark cult classic that will forever be etched in the minds of many cinema enthusiasts.
There isn’t much I can say about Deer Hunter that hasn’t been said already. It’s impact has been massive, but even with the parodies, tributes and deep analysis, what is the film trying to say? Is it anti war, is it purely dealing ? It is purely about the male bond of a few good friends? Whatever you get from the movie it starts with a wedding and ends with a funeral and there’s a lot of pain and torment that happens in between, which sounds like a nihilistic analogy for life itself. I think I knew more about the movie before watching than any other film

A wedding can be the most important day of anyone’s life, usually the highly planned and well organised day can be stressful but after years of being happily married it’s worth it, however everything is upside down about this traumatic run up to this less than perfect couples wedding.
The surprising thing about the Wedding Palaver is that it starts with a hurt girlfriend leaving her jealous and over bearing boyfriend played by Frederick Leonard, he’s controlling, rude and doesn’t apologise for belittling his lover when assuming she’s cheating on him when in fact she’s out visiting her cousin, the hurt girl pleads for mercy then realising that he’ll never change, she leaves. This indie Frankenstein movie has it unique charms but ultimately falls at a few hurdles before crashing through a dull and predictable ending.
Dr Frankenstein (Stephenson) returns to his family home with a new bride, a gorgeous black woman who is fluent in French and slowly learning English with his attentive sister,on returning to his family’s modest cabin in the woods his sister is enchanted to have a fellow woman around his blind father is a bit more reserved.While praying in the woods, Victors bride is murdered by a vicious monster, who then goes a step further and kills the rest of his family. Victor is aware of the monster and soon awakens to the reality that the monster is determined to kill any person Victor becomes attached to, but it doesn’t stop him, the prat decides to get married again to a young lady named Elizabeth (Shields) but to ensure that the wedding goes ahead without a hitch he hires some mercenaries to protect him and his bride.
